Day 3

Ancient Rome: Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill Tour 2 Pm (Duration: 03:00 hrs)

COLOSSEUM (VISIT INSIDE) – ROMAN FORUM (VISIT INSIDE), PALATIINE HILL (VISIT INSIDE)

 Description: After pick up at your hotel (in selected hotels in central Rome), you will reach the Archeological Area with no stress, ready to get the most complete tour of the Colosseum , Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Access the Palatine hill with no line and discover the hill where Rome was founded at the beginning. Then reach the Colosseum and be amazed by this monument that is the symbol of Rome in the world. The Amphitheater created to entertain ancient Roman citizens with bloody shows of gladiators, animals and cruel games, is now one of the most fascinating landmark of the City. Then, walk on the original path of ancient Rome along the Via Sacra and see the Temples of Vesta, Antonino and Faustina, the ancient Basilica Julia and Aemilia and dream about the glorious past of the Roman Empire. Day 4

Description: From Florence we cruise along the tree-lined roads to reach the beautiful Etruscan-Roman village of FIESOLE, with stunning views of Florence and the Arno Valley. Heading back to the city we drive along the famous Lungarni (on the Arno riverbank) to reach the Basilica di SANTA CROCE (external visit) and its historic Square. After admiring the palaces we walk up to Piazza Signoria, the unique heart of the city’s social life, to admire the architecture of Palazzo Vecchio and the famous statues of Loggia de' Lanzi. The tour finishes inside the UFFIZI GALLERY, where you can stand and admire the unique Renaissance masterpieces of the great Italian artists: Leonardo, Giotto, Michelangelo, Botticelli and Raphael...(the list is never-ending). You can stay inside the museum for as long as you please even after the guided tour is over. Please note that the given order of the visits may change.

Day 5

Our trip to the CINQUE TERRE is an unforgettable whole day devoted to the discovery of one of the most amazing and enchanting landscapes in the world. Five (Cinque) villages, hanging between sea and land, a place where you can immerse yourselves in paradise, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.

Description: Our visit begins at daybreak, with the arrival at RIOMAGGIORE: the village, dating back to the early thirteenth century, is famous for its historic character and local wine. You can admire the houses leaning one against the other and stroll along the narrow cobble alleyways and sheltered paths. We then reach MANAROLA by walking along the famous “Via dell’Amore” (The Path of Love) a romantic and evocative promenade hewn from the rocks falling sheer into the sea. The tiny harbor has a boat ramp and picturesque buildings clinging to the ravine. Our journey continues to MONTEROSSO, an ancient fishing village considered “The Pearl of the Cinque Terre”, where you will be awed by its enchanting beaches and the lush vegetation encircling the little town. Here you will have free time to plunge into the crystal sea and sunbathe, before taking the boat to VERNAZZA, a seaside town surrounding a small natural port. As well as comfortable clothes and shoes, we recommend you bring your swimwear! Please note that due to bad weather it may not be possible to use the boat

Day 6

Transfer from Florence to Venice by Train

Day 7

Description: after sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the public Gardens, the tip of Sant'Elena and the Lido, the famous beach resort, the boat arrives at Murano known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here there is a stop of 40 minutes for a visit to one of the factories. The second stop is at the pictoresque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace but also for its fishermen's houses painted in bright colours. The Stop will last about 30 minutes. Then after a short sail of about ten minutes we reach Torcello,the earliest centre of civilisation in the estuary. Only the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. The stop is about 40 minutes.
